As Aunty Jenny stepped on to the plane, back to England, little did she realise the inspiration she had given….Cypress Ridge Produce, Ballandean
It began at Cypress Ridge, Ballandean, where the finishing touches were given to the Caramelised garlic vinegar recipe about to go into production with the help of Ian from Lirah.  This gorgeous sweet vinegar made with garlic grown at Cypress Ridge went well with salads but was in search of it’s own signature dish.
Thankfully Aunty Jenny provided the haloumi, grilled perfectly with a light greek salad that has seen it’s was to the Steakhouse’ new menu.

This has been joined by a range of petite steaks including 150 gram Eye fillet and a 200 gram Rump Steak.  Also the wine list has been extended to include Ravenscroft, Twisted Gum and Boireann as well as our own house red:  The Mongrel from Ridgemill Estate.  Local wineries are featured every 2 weeks with wines available by the glass as well as taste testing available.

And to finish off the evening, the kitchen has been creating a range of delectable desserts including honey cream puffs, jaffa cheesecake tarts and tiramisu made with local Summit coffee.  Some nights can be very busy, especially weekends, so make sure you get in early and book.
Cypress Ridge Garlic Balsamic and Whole Garlic Paste is available from the Steakhouse as well as Brinx Deli, Vincenzo’s, Granite Belt Dairy and Ballandean Estate.  Phone Cypress Ridge on 07 4684 1184 for more information.
